Ms Natalie Sum Yue Chung
PhD Researcher in Climate Policy, Princeton University

Natalie Sum Yue Chung is a dedicated climate researcher and entrepreneur currently pursuing a PhD in Climate Policy at Princeton University. She serves as the Deputy Convenor for Youth and Capacity Building at the Hong Kong Government Council for Carbon Neutrality and Sustainable Development and is a member of the Green Tech Fund Assessment Committee and the Country and Marine Parks Board. Driven by her passion for providing transformative nature-based experiences, Natalie co-founded V’air Sustainability Education, a pioneering climate education startup. Notably, V'air collaborated with Disneyland Hong Kong to create the "Disney Environmental Expedition," an innovative program seamlessly blending theme park experiences, storytelling, and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Natalie reinvents sustainability education for the community and actively supports multilateral sustainability initiatives. Her advocacy includes being the sole Hong Kong representative at the Dr Sylvia Earle Antarctic Climate Expedition in 2023. As the inaugural Museum of Climate Change Scholar, she co-curated the "Climate Witness: Changing Polar Landscapes" exhibition with MoCC based on her fieldwork and learnings from the expedition. Natalie is also the host and researcher of the TV documentary 'Climate Insight', featuring the Chinese Embassy in Fiji, COP28 in Dubai, and the UNDP Pacific Office. As a World Economic Forum Global Shaper, Natalie initiated the Lead for Sustainability Mentorship program for sustainability professionals and Oxford students. Natalie holds an MPhil in Environmental Change and Management from Oxford University and a BSSc in Geography and Resource Management from The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
